40th Anniversary Retrospective

The William Way LGBT Center continues its 40th Anniversary celebration with a retrospective exhibit featuring a special selection of local LGBTQ artists, each of whom has exhibited work in the Center’s Lobby Gallery over the last 15 years. Spanning a broad range of approaches and mediums, the exhibition features the work of Steven Alvarez, Kelly Burkhardt, Patrick Crofton, Thom Duffy, Justin W. Johnson, Kathryn Pannepacker, Robert Sampson, and Eli Vandenberg. Every artist was specially selected from the hundreds of LGBTQ artists who have displayed in the Lobby Gallery since the William Way Center took ownership of its current location at 1315 Spruce Street. The William Way Art Gallery is the only exhibition space in Philadelphia explicitly dedicated to showcasing the work of local and emerging LGBTQ artists. The 40th Anniversary Exhibition is part of the William Way LGBT Community Center’s 40th Anniversary celebration, which will culminate with the sealing of a commemorative time capsule at the Indigo Ball on October 10, 2015.
