Rainbow Reading is our regular book club devoted to the full range of queer literary experiences. With bi-monthly "short reads" and rotating genres, it's perfect for commitment-phobes and those looking for a variety of reading experiences! Come every time or drop in when the selection intrigues you. Every text is LGBTQ-related; many are available for free and all are available in our library.

November selection: The Water That Falls on You From Nowhere by Jeff Chu, winner of the 2014 Hugo Award for Best Short Story. In the near future water falls from the sky whenever someone lies (either a mist or a torrential flood depending on the intensity of the lie). This makes life difficult for Matt as he maneuvers the marriage question with his lover and how best to come out to his traditional Chinese parents.

The Guardian called Water "deeply personal", while Lambda Literary said it was a "standout". Kirkus Reviews described it as "so beautiful it hurts."
