Celebrate the 25th anniversary of The COLOURS Organization with a special Archives Exhibition.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the founding of The COLOURS Organization, a non-profit organization in Philadelphia that has provided social justice initiatives, community building programs and HIV/AIDS related services to Black lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) persons since 1991. Co-curated by COLOURS and the William Way LGBT Community Center, the exhibit will prominently feature the work of COLOURS over the past 25 years. The exhibit will also feature an elders and ancestors section to honor those we have lost over the years as well as those who are still with us and have helped to pave the way to provide spaces in Philadelphia where we can be whole in our Black LGBT identities.  The exhibit will be an evolving one and will change in mid-May to accommodate more of the story of COLOURS and Black LGBT Philadelphia. 

The gallery opening will be on Friday April 22, 2016, 6p-8p at William Way—1315 Spruce Street at the John J. Wilcox, Jr. Archives gallery on the first floor.  The reception is free of charge and will feature appetizers, wine and non-alcoholic refreshments.  For more information on the opening reception contact Mark A.
