From April through October 1980 approximately 125,000 refugees fled their homes in Cuba and traveled by American ships and boats to the United States. Among them were a sizable number of LGBTQ Cubans. This exhibit explores our community's response to the Mariel Boatlift of 1980 and the personal stories of LGBTQ Cuban immigrants.

Desde abril hasta octubre de 1980, aproximadamente 125,000 refugiados huyeron de sus hogares en Cuba y viajaron en barcos estadounidenses a Estados Unidos. Entre ellos había un número considerable de cubanos LGBTQ. Esta exposición explora la respuesta de nuestra comunidad al Mariel Boatlift de 1980 y las historias personales de inmigrantes cubanos LGBTQ.
